Crashes on two Perth freeways are proving to be a headache for motorists travelling on both sides of the river on Wednesday.

Main Roads reported an accident on the Mitchell Freeway northbound after Hutton Street in Osborne park about 5:12pm.

The right lane has been partially shut as towing services attend the scene.

Motorists are urged to drive carefully in the area as traffic is still heavy on approach.

Another peak-hour accident on Kwinana Freeway northbound after South Street in Bateman was earlier posted to Main Roads’ X about 4:27pm.

The left lane was blocked off before the incident was cleared and traffic was flowing about 6:07pm.

A short clip posted by Main Roads showed a white vehicle stopped in the far left lane with cars backed up out of frame.
